# Using IPinfo as a search engine in your browser

# You can set up IPinfo as a custom IP address search engine

For Chromium-based browser:

1. Go to your web browser’s settings
2. Seach for “search engine”
3. Look for “Manage Search Engine”
4. Click on “Add”. Fill up the form like so:  
a. “Search Engine” ⇒ IPinfo  
b. “Keyword / Shortcut” ⇒ IP  
c. “URL with %s in place of the query” ⇒ `https://ipinfo.io/%s`

Now, on the browser address bar, you can type `ip` press the tab key and type in the IP address, and it will directly take you to the IP address [IP data page](https://ipinfo.io/22.227.163.172) on IPinfo.
