RethinkDNS is a free and open-source project that empowers Android users with a powerful combination of DNS resolver, firewall, and adblocker to enhance privacy, security, and control over internet traffic. It encrypts DNS queries using DNS-over-HTTPS or DNS-over-TLS, supports over 190 blocklists, including those used by uBlockOrigin, and helps block malware, spyware, ads, and trackers across all apps.
Developed by engineers from AWS, IBM, and Scientific Games, RethinkDNS aims to counter surveillance by governments, ISPs, and apps, and is part of the Mozilla Builders MVP program, with upcoming features like the Rethink Proxy Network expanding its capabilities.
