In September 2026, the White House moved to replace “Artificial Intelligence” with “Super Intelligence” (SI) across federal communications. We looked at our own global domain data to see how activity on .ai and .si domains compares.
.ai domains are booming
The number of distinct .ai domains we track has grown more than 6x since January 2024, while .si domains have grown much more slowly over the same period.
The Super Intelligence rebrand
The US President used the term “Super Intelligence” / “SI” on three documented public occasions in late 2026:
-
Sep 22, 2026
Speech at the 81st UN General Assembly, announcing plans to replace “Artificial Intelligence” with “Super Intelligence” in US government usage.

Sep 29, 2026
Executive Order 14434, “Inaugurating the Era of Super Intelligence,” signed at a White House summit with tech CEOs.

Truth Social post escalating the “Super Intelligence” messaging, alongside the announcement of a “Superintelligence Force.”

Our domain snapshots are taken monthly, close to the 1st of the month. Between the snapshots taken on September 1st and October 1st, 2026, there was a window that fully contains the announcements made on September 22nd and September 29th. The number of .si domains we track rose sharply.
Of the roughly 52,000 names that newly appeared, about 1 in 85 (1.2%) reference “super” or “intelligence” directly in the domain name itself; the rest are generic names unrelated to AI or Super Intelligence branding.
Same name, two TLDs
Because “SI” and “AI” are both two-letter abbreviations, we checked how many domain names are registered under both .ai and .si.
Checking where these paired domains are actually hosted, only 49 of the 99,927 pairs sit on dedicated, non-shared servers. The rest resolve to large shared-hosting or domain-marketplace infrastructure that also serves thousands of unrelated sites, so the matching name doesn’t mean the same company or site is behind both.
