yeah we should slow down a bit ;p
Rev also loves to hunt those ips he basically was the guy who told me about this event
I think itās carrier dependent.
Iām on T-mobile in the US, and I get a new random IP on every request - no need to even disconnect / reconnect.
Incredible!
Iād love to see your android automation too!
Iāve also observed this myself, both in this hunt and in the field. T-Mobile has the most volatile address assignment out of the big 3, by far.
The Android automation to cycle IP addresses (running on a Pixel 7a)
Using Automate, I tried some other tools but I was losing the race against @Exove and @rev.pm so it had to be quick & easy
Make sure to disable WiFi, let it struggle on cellular
here is the source in .flo format save it as .flo, then you can import it, or rebuild it based on the screenshot!
Enjoy!
This is almost the same solution I used, but I left larger delays in the loop.
I wasnāt sure if the mobile operator might not spot it and consider it a bug or more likely an attack of some kind.
My experience is also that on newer Android phones (perhaps due to the 5G-centric hardware) it acts faster to the network, actually resolving the IP switch in 2-3 seconds.
I noticed at the beginning that it nearly always assigns a different address. Of course it could be a coincidence, but there was no repetition for quite a long time. (However, the connection is surprisingly stable and as long as I donāt disconnect it is able to exist with the same IP for days.)
Some users definitely are. I also recognize some people from ipv4.games (e.g. rev.pm, where theyāve had 1.7mil unique ipv4 in a week, exove.ovh I recognize as well)
I did the same as @CLN.io with a similar flow (airplane on, wait 5s, airplane off, loop in 10s), higher wait due to dual sim (causes it to take longer to connect for some reason)
Fun event tho
I had the idea of automising the reconnection on my fritzbox, they have a option to get a new ip assigned which takes a few seconds aswell but you have to relogin to their panel each change and the api is quite harsh with that aswell
Iāve checked the TOS of my provider, they donāt explicitly state that continuously getting new IPs isnāt allowed, soooo I guess Iām fine, but Iām still keeping an eye on whether they will send me any notice or anything lmao
