New to IPInfo, I am getting started. I find the map api nice ( Map IP Address Data with IPinfo API Tools | IPinfo.io ), but it seems to sometime stop working after a while ( ~10 requests). When looking in the debugger I see that the map api from the web site return 429 too many requests (while the request button just spins).
What is the limit on this API? Is there a way to use this API with an account key? Am I missing something about this function?

My apologies for the super late reply. The map and summarization tool are independent tools and are not reliant on API keys. Are you still facing lags and delays?

No problem, and thank you for looking into this issue. I can still reproduce the problem:
I ran 5 maps. I got a transient error 500 => I briefly saw the error 500 with the cook and the flaming table, then the display switched to the requested map on the second or 3rd map. Then got the hanging request on the 5th request.

Thank you for raising this issue. It was actually engineering policy to introduce a rate limit to reduce abuse to these tools. Unfortunately, I forgot to document this publicly. I will write the community post.
The current limit is 5 uses per day per tool for each individual IP address.
Ok fair enough. 5/day & Per IP. That’s not much though.
