Hello,I am a student from China.I tried to contact you from the sheet on your website, but I have not receive a reply. So I ask it here.
I found some questions when I use ipinfo.
The ip geo accuracy in China mainland seems to low.I am currently in Liaoning Province. But your database said that I am in Shanghai or Zhejiang Province. There are many similar cases.Especially in some small ISP such as CHINAEDU(www.edu.cn,AS4538).
I know, due to the unique network environment in mainland China, it is normal for geographical locations to be marked incorrectly.
Here is a sheet from your website China Network Information - IPinfo.io
The sheet shows that the city with the most IP addresses is Shanghai.Ipinfo says Shanghai has 242,513,886 ip address. But it is incorrect, the correct nubmer is 19,274,586 (data provided by IPInsight,an IP Geo provider in China mainland). Your figures are several times higher than the actual values.
What’s more , you have fabricated a city out of thin air (Jinrongjie). It should have been the name of a street in Beijing, but you treated it as a city.
So how do you deal with this situation?
My email is here cape234@outlook.com.
Hope to your reply.
First of all, Sky, incredible set of questions, and you have pointed out a big area for our improvement.

My apologies. We use Geonames for our data, which is a crowd-sourced database that may sometimes have faults in it.
So how do you deal with this situation?
Let me carefully investigate the issue internally. I will reach out to you via email or private message within this platform. Does this sound good? We have invested in improving our data in China, and feedback from Chinese citizens like you would help us tremendously. Thank you.
See your mailbox.I have sent an email to support@ipinfo.io
